EAST LANSING, Mich. - The third annual #B1GADGolf Challenge between Michigan State and Michigan will be held at the Country Club of Lansing on Monday, July 29. Like last year's event, the challenge will be match play format featuring nine contests.

Video Preview

The competition begins at 1 p.m. with Michigan State's Mark Hollis and Michigan's Dave Brandon squaring off in a battle of athletic directors. That pairing will be followed by professors from each campus, members of the schools' radio crews, the men's and women's golf coaches, and four former student-athlete matches.

Michigan State has captured the trophy in each of the first two years of the event. In the inaugural challenge at Eagle Eye Golf Course in Bath, Mich., in 2011, five-person teams squared off in a low two-ball best-ball format, with MSU needing one extra hole to win with a team score of 10-under par. Last year, the format was changed to the current set-up of nine individual matches using match play scoring. Once again, MSU captured the trophy by a score of 5.5-3.5.

Admission is free for the #B1GADGolf Challenge. Fans of both schools are welcome to attend the golf challenge and walk along during the action, providing they adhere to the dress code of the Country Club of Lansing (Bermuda shorts, pants, ladies culottes and capris are allowed. Women may wear shirts with or without sleeves. Tank tops, halter-tops, and swimming attire are prohibited. Golf shoes with non-metal spikes or tennis shoes must be worn at all times.
