Head coach Ted Mahan enters his sixth season as the Spartans' head man after serving as an MSU assistant for four seasons.

Mahan, a native of Davison, Mich., has helped turn around the Spartan program, posting 25 victories in three of the last four seasons. Mahan holds an overall head coaching record of 113-157.

In 1999, Mahan posted 28 victories, the most wins in his career at MSU.

Led by the return of 26 letterwinnners and seven of nine position players, the Michigan State baseball squad will look to make a serious run at this year's Big Ten title.
