LouAnne Jefferson is a certified athletic trainer for the Michigan State women's basketball team. A native of Indianapolis, Ind., Jefferson joined the Spartan athletic training staff after two years as the head athletic trainer at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Jefferson is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers' Association, the Michigan Athletic Trainors Society and is a volunteer for the Red Cross as a CPR instructor.
She earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training/sports medicine from Purdue University and a master's degree in athletic training/sports medicine from Temple University.
Jefferson is the sports medicine crew captain for the Michigan "3-Day" - a three-day walking event raising money to fund breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment. Jefferson has been working the event since 2005.
