Watch First Installment of Fans Top 10Football | 7/9/2009 As part of the "Spartan Football All-Access" television show debuting in August on FOX Sports Detroit, Michigan State Athletics is asking fans to vote on their favorite Spartan football plays of all time. The new "Fans' Top 10" feature will allow fans to see nominees for the list throughout the summer on msuspartans.com, with voting scheduled for the week of Aug. 17. Basketball | 6/25/2009 Michigan State women's basketball head coach Suzy Merchant is serving as an assistant coach for the 2009 USA Basketball Women's World University Games Team in Belgrade, Serbia. Team USA (6-0) beat Australia 81-66 on Thursday and will face Russia (6-0) in the Gold medal game on Saturday at 3 p.m. (9 a.m. ET).

Golf | 7/9/2009 Michigan State rising senior Jack Newman fired an opening round even par 71 this afternoon at the PGA Tour's John Deere Classic, held at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. Newman, playing as an amateur through a sponsor exemption, posted four birdies on the day, including two in his final three holes, to sit in a tie for 80th among the field of 156 professional golfers.
