Season Opener: The Michigan State women's swimming and diving team opens its 27th season of intercollegiate competition this weekend. The Spartans will host intrastate rival and 11-time defending Big Ten Champion Michigan on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 9:30 a.m. The meet will be held at the IM-West Outdoor Pool. There is no admission charge.

The Meet: Saturday's contest against Michigan will be an 11-event meet with no diving. The meet begins at 9:30 a.m., with the 400 medley relay and will conclude at approximately 11:30 a.m., with the 400 freestyle relay.

About The Spartans: Fifth-year head coach Richard Bader returns 19 letterwinners from last season's 5-3 team that finished seventh at the Big Ten Championships. The top returnee for the Spartans is senior Jami Archambault (Flint), who captured the Big Ten title in the 100 back (55.93) and went on to finish 15th at the NCAA Championships (55.82).
