Spartans Set To Compete At Big Ten Men's Swim/Dive Championships

MSU begins four-day competition against conference foes on Wednesday.

Sophomore Season: Academic All-Big Ten ... Swam a season-best time at the Big Ten Championships in the 200 backstroke (1:51.02) ... Had a season-best in the 200 butterfly (1:55.03) against Notre Dame.

Freshman Season: Recorded the third-fastest time of the team in the 200 backstroke (1:51.88) ... Swam a season-best in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:54.44 at the Eastern Michigan Invitational ... Posted a season-best in the 200 individual medley (200.80) at the dual meet against Iowa ... Finished with a season-best in the 400 individual medley (4:08.34) at the Big Ten Championship meet.

High School: Participated in the Junior Nationals in 2010...Two-time letter winner at Rochester Adams High School.

Personal: Born May 28, 1992 ... Son of Kirk and Nancy Goins ... Majoring in applied engineering sciences...Father Kirk was a swimmer at MSU from 1984-86...Brother Brain was also a swimmer at MSU.
