Spartans Set To Compete At Big Ten Men's Swim/Dive Championships

MSU begins four-day competition against conference foes on Wednesday.

Sophomore Season: Academic All-Big Ten ... Qualified for the US Olympic Trials in the 200 freestyle in Omaha, Neb. ... Finished 14th in the 200 freestyle at the Big Ten Championship meet with a time of 1:37.09 ... Shaved eight seconds off his season-best time in the 500 freestyle at the Big Ten Championship meet, swimming 4:30.24 ... Swam another season-best at the Big Ten's in the 200 freestyle (1:36.29) ... Won the Men's Jason Vadney Spartan of the Year Award.

Freshman Season: Part of 400 medley relay that set school record with a time of 3:13.04 ... Placed 21st in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:26.25 at the Big Ten Championship meet, where he also set another season-best time in the 200 freestyle (1:37.55).

High School: Four-time letter winner and two-time captain at Mundelein High School...All-American and All-State selection in 2009 and 2010...First-team All-State in water polo in 2010...Three-time team MVP...Holds schools records in the 200 and 500 freestyle, and the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

Personal: Born on December 3, 1991 ... Son of Timothy and Eileen Falconer ... Majoring in urban and regional planning.
