Forty-nine Spartans student-athletes were recognized for having a 3.0 or better GPA.
Day 2 Big Ten Championships Recap
The Spartans broke the varsity school record in the 800 Freestyle Relay with a time of 6:27.14.
MSU was led by swimmers Jacob Jarzen and Bryan Williams on the men's side as they combined for four individual first-place finishes.
Junior Season: Academic All-Big Ten ... Awarded the John Munley Memorial Scholarship ... Season best in the 100 Free (45.59), 200 Free (1:38.40) and the 500 Free (4:32.99) at the Big Ten Championship meet ... Swam a season best time in the 200 IM with a time of 1:55.73.
Sophomore Season: Academic All-Big Ten ... Swam the fourth leg on the 800 free relay at the Big Ten Championships which set the new school record of 6:29.33, qualifying for the NCAA Championships ... Placed first in the 200 free at the TYR Invitational ... First place finish in the 500 free against GVSU ... Recorded top-two season-best times in the 500 free (4:32.34) and 200 free (1:38.85) ... Swam a 46.14 in the 100 free, 1:38.85 in the 200 free and 4:32.34 in the 500 free at the Big Ten Championships.
Freshman Season: Claimed his first collegiate first-place finish with a 4:42.28 in the 500 freestyle and also recorded a second-place finish in the 1,000 free (9:52.62) vs. GVSU (11/14) ... Swam a 9:55.16 in the 1,000 free to take first place vs. Ball State (12/13) ... Took third in the 500 free with a 4:39.55 vs. Michigan (2/8) ... Had his fastest time of the year (4:32.14) in the 500 free at the TYR Invitational (11/22).
High School: State champion in the 200 free as a junior...Four-time All-American and All-State...Team captain his senior season...Team won conference championship all four years.
