Team captain...a one-year letterwinner and Big Ten All-Star Team selection...competed in the 100 and 200 breaststroke at the 1999 Big Ten Championships...competed in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley at the ’98 Big Ten’s...swam lifetime bests in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and the 200 IM at the ’97 Big Tens. High School: A four-year varsity swimmer…lettered two years at Okemos High after transferring from Traverse City High…guided Chieftains to state title as a senior captain…finished fifth in the 100 breast and fourth in the 200 IM at the state championship meet as a senior…earned all-state honors as a junior and senior…four-time all-conference and all-area honoree. Personal: Born Jan. 21, 1978, she is the daughter of Calvin and Deborah Sturgeon…an art education major…a member of Athletes In Action. |
