Women Tied for 11th after Day One of Big Tens

IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Michigan State swimming and diving team are tied for 11th place, along with Nebraska, after the first day of the Big Ten Championships in Iowa. Day one's action consisted of only two events. In the 200 Medley Relay, the Spartans placed tenth with the team of Lauren Daugherty, Kerry Sodonis, Jenny Rusch and Morgan Piasecki clocking in at 1:42.25. MSU then finished in 12th in the 800 Free Relay. Alexandra Pierce swam the first leg, followed by Hannah Pugh, Whitney Woodbridge and Piasecki, finishing in 7:31.27.
The four-day event continues tomorrow, Thursday Feb. 16, with preliminaries at 11:00 a.m. followed by finals at 6:30 p.m. All of the action can be followed on live stats.
