Women’s Swimming & Diving Conclude Big Ten Championships With Multiple Personal-Best Swims
Bukowski and Roche placed 21st in their respective events.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Michigan State women's swimming and diving team concluded its final day of Big Ten Championships, finishing in 13th place with a score of 172. No. 4 ranked Michigan finished first in the meet.
“We broke seven team records over the course of the year, which I’m really proud of,” head coach Matt Gianiodis said. “I’m proud of all of our seniors, they did great. We’re really going to miss them.”
Racheal Bukowski and Ellie Roche placed 21st overall in the 100 free and 200 breaststroke, respectively.
Haley Kornburger’s time of 17:05.93 in the mile entered her into the school’s all-time top ten for the event.
Courtney Aycock, Olivia Chick, Kennedy Truex, Dominique Meldrum, Taylor Contino and Gretchen Schultz all swam personal-best times in the 100 free.
Cathryn Armstrong swam a personal-best time in the 200 backstroke, Erin Szara with a personal-best in the 200 breast, and Rebecca Hannon also swam a personal-best in the 200 fly.
Up next, the men’s team will take a turn at the Big Ten Championships Feb. 21-24 in Minneapolis, Minn.
