Women's Final Results - All Events

IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Michigan State women's swimming and diving team closed out the final day of competition at the Big Ten Championships in Iowa City. The Spartans continued to drop time in the water, tallying many individual improvements, finishing in 12th place with a total of 55 points.

In the 200 backstroke, Lauren Baisden dropped a full second from her previous mark to post a personal and team season-best 2:01.69. Samantha Hilk followed close behind in a season personal-best time of 2:02.22.

KJ Burkland led the team for the second-straight year in the 1650 free with a time of 16:52.37.

Jenny Rusch cut a full second from her time in the 100 freestyle, posting a 50.77. Morgan Piasecki also improved her individual performance in the same event, with a time of 51.64.

In the 200 butterfly, freshman Hannah Pugh knocked two seconds off of her previous season best, clocking in at 2:03.55.

The Spartans rounded out their championship performance with a full three-second improvement in the 400 freestyle relay. The squad of Rusch, Brooke Sauchak, Alexandra Pierce and Morgan Piasecki finished in 3:24.26.

The championships conclude the women's season, but the men's Big Ten Championships get underway next week. All of the action will take place again, in Iowa City from Feb. 22 - 25.
