Senior Anne Illgen Finishes Fifth in 200 Butterfly

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State's women's swimming and diving team finished 10th overall at the Big Ten Championships with a total of 165 points. The University of Michigan won the Championship with 788.50 points, followed by Minnesota with 644.50, and Northwestern rounded out the top three with a score of 388.
MSU senior Anne Illgen led the Spartans, finishing in 5th place in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:02.78. In the 1650 freestyle, MSU finished 14th with a time of 17:06.93. In the 200 breaststroke, sophomore Catrin Lenfers was 16th with a time of 2:20.76.
The next action for the Spartans will take place at the Shamrock Classic on Sat., February 28 through Sun., March 1. The University of Notre Dame, in South Bend, Indiana will host the Classic.
