FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Michigan State swimmer Jacob Jarzen opened up the first day of competition at the 2012 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday (Mar. 22) afternoon. The three-day is hosted by the University of Seattle at King County Aquatic Center. The junior took 46th place in the 200 IM with a career-best time of 1:47.91, shaving over a second off his previous top time.
Jarzen will continue with day two of the competition on Friday, March 23 in the 100-yard butterfly. He wraps up his events on Saturday, March 24 with the 200-yard backstroke. Prelims for both days begin at 2 p.m. with the top 16 in each event qualifying for the finals at 10 p.m.
Both sessions on Thursday and the preliminary sessions on Friday and Saturday will be streamed for free on GoSeattleU.com. The finals sessions on Friday and Saturday will be streamed live on ESPN3.com and will be broadcast on ESPNU at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 1.
