Archambault swims lifetime best in the 100 Backstroke
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Representing the Michigan State swim team in the NCAA Championships at the University of Minnesota, from March 19-22, was Spartan senior Jami Archambault. On March 20 in the preliminary round of the 100 backstroke, Archambault finished 21st with a time of 55.53.
The time was a lifetime best for Archambault, breaking the MSU school record of 55.81, which she set at last year's NCAA Championship. Unfortunately the time did not qualify Archambault for the final round of the 100 backstroke, as this year's 100 backstroke field is the fastest NCAA field in the event's history. Archambault's performance in the 1996-97 earned her a 15th -place finish and honorable mention All-American honors.
