EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State swimming and diving team posted their second victory in as many matches on Friday, as the women topped the Bonnies of St. Bonaventure 174-117, while the men earned a 178-120 victory.
The women notched victories in ten total events, while the men earned first-place finishes in nine of their contests. Both earned the top two spots in the 200 medley relay, as the women earned a combined time of 1:48.14, and the men, led by Michael Uggeri (20.92), finished in 1:34.17.
Three Spartans recorded season-best times in the 100 breast stroke, as Bahadir Senel and Jason Lintjer earned times of 58.14 and 58.53 respectively, while Cameron Bartlett notched a top time of 59.54.
Jacob Jarzen also earned two top times on his way to first-place finishes in the 50 free and 200 IM, as he posted a 20.74 in the 50 freestyle and 1:52.41 in the 200IM.
Lauren Daughtry and the divers led the way for the women, as Daughtry posted top times on her way to first-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (58.52) and the 50-yard backstroke (27.68).
The Spartans continued to show dominance on the board, as the women were able to take the first four spots in the 3-meter event. Sarah Clay took first place with a score of 334.20, while Jordan Jackson (279.23), Alison Menzies (266.78) and Ashely Borgman (231.23) rounded out the top four for the Spartans.
The Spartans finished in the exact same order in the 1-meter event.
The most impressive event for the women came in the 200-yard backstroke, where the Spartans took the top three spots, with Samantha Hilk earning the victory in a time of 2:08.73. Lauren Baisden and Kelly Delorme clocked in at 2:08.94 and 2:12.03, respectively.
The Spartans continue action on Dec. 2, when they travel to Columbus, Ohio for the three-day Ohio State Invitational.
