The Michigan State men's and women's swimming and diving teams will host Purdue on Saturday, Jan. 17 at noon at McCaffree Pool in IM West. In dual meets this season, the MSU women's team is 3-3 while the men are 2-1.

Having not competed since Dec. 13 against Ball State, both the men's and women's teams are coming off a long layover. However, both the swimmers and divers made training trips during the semester break in preparation for the stretch run of the season.

"Against Ball State, we moved some people around to compete in other events so we haven't really competed since the week before Thanksgiving," said MSU head coach Matt Gianiodis. "We've done a lot of race rehearsal training but you don't know how that works out until you get into the actual meet."

Both the men's and women's teams have enjoyed success this season, with several swimmers setting new school marks as well as posting top-20 times in the nation. On the boards, six Spartans - Danielle Williams, Alycia Mokedanz, Kayla Kalmbach, David Garry, Jordan Jackson and Sarah Clay - have qualified for NCAA Zones.
