EAST LANSING, Mich. - After a tough weekend at home with a double-dual and back-to-back meets for the women, the Spartans will head to Bowling Green, Ohio for a tri-meet with Bowling Green and Buffalo. The meet will be held in the Cooper Pool at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19.

"Hopefully, we improve off of last week," said head coach Matt Gianiodis. "That's our number one goal is to try to make sure we are working back to where we were in late November and early December. We trained really hard during that month break, so the hope is that we show some level of improvement off of that. We still have a lot of time before the Big Ten meet, but it would be nice if we were moving in the right direction."

Both the Spartan men and women look to bounce back after they fell in a double-dual meet on Friday, Jan. 11, as the men swam against Purdue and the women faced the University of Toledo. The women couldn't fight back for a win the following day against Purdue.

The Falcons of Bowling Green are 0-3 in the MAC after falling to Eastern Michigan last weekend in the first meet of the 2013 season.  Michigan State will be the third Big Ten school the Falcons have faced this season, after winning six races at the TYR Invitational against Northwestern and Illinois in November.

Buffalo's men's team, who finished second at the 2012 MAC championships, is coming off a victory over Niagara 147-80. The women's team also beat the Purple Eagles, 139-96, and heads into the meet with a 4-0 record on the season.

Next weekend, the women will stay home to host Michigan in a dual meet on Friday, Jan. 25 at 6 p.m., while the men travel to Oakland University for a dual meet on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m.
