Men's Swim Team Falls to Michigan, 159-84
February 5, 1999
EAST LANSING, Mich. -The Michigan State men's swimming and diving team dropped to Michigan, 159-84, in their final home meet this evening.
Despite the loss, Michigan State came out with strong efforts. "We had some really good swims. The format was different because this was the last meet before Big Tens," said head coach Richard Bader.
John Munley finished first in the 100-yard freestyle (46.21). Michael Tingley produced a first-place finish in the 200 backstroke (1:50.84). Both, Tingley and Munley, were on the winning 400 medley relay team (3:26.26) along with teammates John Bruesch and Chad Ganden.
The Michigan State University men's swimming and diving team (4-4 overall, 2-4 Big Ten) will be in action again on Feb. 25-27, when they travel to Bloomington, Ind. for the Big Ten Championships at 12 noon and 7 p.m. ##
