Men’s Swimming & Diving Set For Big Ten Championships
The meet will be held in the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The Michigan State men’s swimming and diving team is ready to compete in the Big Ten Championships, hosted by Minnesota on Feb. 21-24 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“Our men are really excited to go to Minneapolis. It’s always a great place to have the meet, and Minnesota always puts on a great meet,” head coach Matt Gianiodis said. “We have a group of seniors that have worked really hard this year to cap off their Big Ten careers in the best possible way.”
The championships begin on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m. ET with the 200 medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay. The preliminaries will begin at 11 a.m. on Feb. 22-24, and the finals begin at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 22-24.
Nick Leshok is ready to compete in his final Big Ten Championships. The senior holds the fastest times on the team in the 50 and 100 breaststroke. Last time out, Leshok placed second in the 100 fly and third in the 50 breaststroke at rival No. 6 Michigan.
Guy Moskovich is also ready to compete in distance events for his first championship meet. The freshman is first on the team in the 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyle events. His fastest time in the mile, 15:16.68, was his first-place finish at the Northwestern TYR Invitational.
