EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State freshman Katie Duncombe (Erie, Pa.) will represent the Spartans at the NCAA Championships, March 16-18, in the 100- and 200-meter backstroke.

Duncombe made the NCAA Consideration Time cuts at the World Cup Series and Notre Dame Invitational earlier this year and was selected to go Wednesday, March 1. Duncombe qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100 backstroke at the World Cup Series in College Park, Md., Nov. 17-18. She qualified for the 200 backstroke at the Notre Dame Invitational (Dec. 4) with a time of 2:00.71.

Duncombe will be competing Friday, March 17, in the 100-meter backstroke and the 200-meter backstroke on Saturday, March 18.

Michigan State will be one of 53 teams represented at the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. The Spartans will find out if they will have more representatives following the NCAA Diving Regionals on March 10-11.

The NCAA Championships begin Thursday, March 16 at 11 a.m. with preliminaries. The Championships run through Saturday, March 18. Finals each day start at 7 p.m.
