EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State swimming & diving program will send two divers to the NCAA Zone C Diving Regionals this week in West Lafayette, Ind. Sophomore Alison Menzies and junior Cristee Cordes will kick-off on the 3-meter on Thursday, March 14 and continue competition on the 1-meter on Friday, March 15.

Prelims for each event are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday and Friday. The top-18 will compete in the evening finals. The divers will look to qualify for one of nine allotted regional positions in the NCAA Championships.

After qualifying for the NCAA Regionals in the first meet of the season, Menzies looks to capitalize on six individual titles she earned on the 1- and 3-meter this season. She set each of her career-best scores at the dual with Grand Valley State, posting a 283.80 on the 1-meter and 300.45 on the 3-meter. This is the second trip to the regional meet for the Winston-Salem, N.C., native, as she qualified her freshman season. In 2012, Menzies scored a 213.95 to finish in 48th on the 1-meter board.

Winning her first collegiate title, Cordes qualified for the regional meet after posting a career-best score of 282.45 on the 1-meter against Michigan. The Comstock Park, Mich., native will be returning to the meet after qualifying her freshman season.  At the 2011 Zone meet, she placed 31st on the 3-meter with a score of 233.20 and 43rd on the 1-meter, posting a 208.05.
