EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's swimming and diving team will be represented at the 2001 NCAA Championships, March 22-24 at the Rec Natatorium in College Station, Texas. Senior John Munley (Kalamazoo, Mich.) qualified to swim the 500 freestyle, the 200 free, and the 1,650 free events.

Hosted by Texas A&M University, the championship meet is comprised of 44 Division I teams for a total of 235 competitors. Every school in the Big Ten Conference is represented, with Minnesota having the most competitors at 14.

This is the Spartans' first appearance in the NCAA Championship meet since 1996, when they placed 38th.
