Jarzen Advances to 100-meter Fly Semifinals at U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials

OMAHA, Neb. - Michigan State rising senior Jacob Jarzen (Jacksonville, Ill.) has advanced to the 100-meter fly semifinals at the U.S. Swimming Olympic Trials after finishing 12th in the preliminary round Saturday morning with a time of 53.12 seconds.
The 100-meter fly semifinals are scheduled for Saturday night at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha; the evening session begins at 8 p.m. ET and will be televised live on NBC.
Jarzen will swim in the first semifinal, which also features Ryan Lochte, who is a six-time Olympic medalist.
Two-time defending Olympic champion Michael Phelps finished first in the preliminary round of the 100 fly with a time of 51.80 seconds and will swim in the second semifinal.
Each semifinal consists of eight swimmers and the top eight overall will advance to the finals on Sunday night.
