Swimming & Diving Announces 2013-14 Schedule

Michigan State opens the 2013-14 season with the Green-White meet on Friday, Oct. 4.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State head swimming and diving coach Matt Gianiodis has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2013-14 season.

The Spartans will host the annual Green-White meet on Friday, Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. and the annual Alumni Meet on Homecoming Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 9 a.m.

The season officially begins for the women's team on Friday, Oct. 18 as the Spartans will compete against Iowa and Northern Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.

One week later on Oct. 25, the women return home to take on Illinois and Liberty at 5 p.m. in the home opener at McCaffree Pool. The women will also host Ball State on Friday, Nov. 1 at 5 p.m.

Both the men's and women's programs will swim against Grand Valley State at Jenison High School on Friday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m.

The men's team will hit the road again on Friday, Nov. 15 to take on Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., at 6 p.m.

Both teams will head to Evanston, Ill., on Nov. 22-24 to participate in the Northwestern Invitational.

The U.S. Short Course Nationals are set for Dec. 5-7 in Knoxville, Tenn., while the team's annual training trip will be Dec. 15-22.

The Spartans return to dual action Saturday, Jan. 11 to face Purdue in West Lafayette, Ind.

The women's team will host Bowling Green on Friday, Jan. 17 before both teams head to Ypsilanti, Mich., on Jan. 18 to take on Eastern Michigan and Buffalo.

The final two home meets of the year will be against Oakland on Thursday, Jan. 23 and Denison on Saturday, Jan. 25.

The women close out the regular season at Michigan on Feb. 7 and Toledo on Feb. 8. The men go up against Michigan in Ann Arbor on Feb. 8.

The women's Big Ten Championships will be held Feb. 19-22 at Minnesota, while Michigan is hosting the men's Big Ten Championships Feb. 26-March 1.



The NCAA Diving Zones will take place March 13-15.

The 2014 NCAA Women's Championships are set for March 20-22 in Minneapolis, while the NCAA Men's Championships are March 27-29 in Austin, Texas.
