EAST LANSING, Mich. - Head coach Matt Gianiodis has released the 2011-12 schedule for the Michigan State men's and women's swimming and diving teams. The schedule features the team's first home outdoor meet for the men since 1991 and the women since 1997 when it hosts Cleveland State and Oakland on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m.

The annual Green-White meet will be held a day prior to the first regular-season meet outdoors on Friday, Oct. 7. The final exhibition meet for MSU will be the annual Alumni Meet on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 9 a.m., prior to the Spartans' homecoming football game against Wisconsin.

Following the Alumni Meet, the Spartans travel to Iowa along with Truman State for a tri-meet on Saturday, Oct. 29 for the first road competition of the season at 12 p.m.

MSU's two other home meets will be held on Friday, Nov. 4 against Illinois and Friday, Jan. 20 against Ohio State. Both competitions will be only the women swimming.

The Green and White will make trips to the Ohio State Invitational (Dec. 2-4), Ball State (Dec. 10), Purdue (Jan. 14) and Notre Dame (Jan. 21). MSU will also take on Grand Valley State at Jenison High School on Nov. 11.

The women will also travel to Ann Arbor on Friday, Jan 28 for a dual against Michigan, while the men will face the Wolverines, also on the road, on Saturday, Feb. 4.

The Women's Big Ten Championships are set for Feb. 15-18 while the men are scheduled for Feb. 22-25. Iowa is hosting both the men's and women's championships this season.
