Swimmer Elizabeth Brown Earns Big Ten Weekly Honors
Brown earned her first collegiate win in the 200-meter butterfly against Wisconsin last week.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Freshman Elizabeth Brown, a member of the Michigan State swimming and diving team, was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Brown, a native of Ashburton, New Zealand, won her first individual race as a Spartan on Friday against Wisconsin. She posted a 2:25.13 in the 200-meter butterfly in her first collegiate win and her performance earned her first Big Ten weekly laurel of her career.
Prior to MSU, Brown represented New Zealand at the Trans-Tasman series in 2007, 2009 and 2010 and the Junior Pan-Pacific Championships in Guam in 2009 where she set age group records.
Brown will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 9 p.m., as Michigan State hosts the 57th Annual Alumni Meet at the McCaffree Pool in IM West.
