EAST LANSING, Mich. - The MSU swimming and diving team will play host to Iowa at the McCaffree Pool at IM West on Friday, Oct. 19 at 4 p.m. The meet will consist of 32 events, 16 men's and 16 women's and admission will be free to the event.

This marks the third meet of the year for the Spartans, after they hosted Wisconsin to open up the season and hosted the 57th Annual Alumni meet this past weekend.

Thus far, the women have been led by sophomore Alison Menzies on the diving board. Menzies tallied NCAA Regional qualifying scores in both the one-meter and three-meter competitions and took home her first collegiate win in three-meter at the Wisconsin meet on Sept. 29.

Freshman Elizabeth Brown has also been a positive spark for the Spartans. Brown, a native of Ashburton, New Zealand, won her first individual race as a Spartan against Wisconsin. She posted a 2:25.13 in the 200-meter butterfly in her first collegiate win and her performance earned her first Big Ten weekly laurel of her career.

On the men's side, MSU is paced by junior Bryan Williams who took two first-place finishes at the Wisconsin meet in the 200-meter freestyle (1:59.51) and in the 100-meter butterfly (56.31), the same event in which he qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials.
