Bryan Williams Named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week
Williams took two individual wins against Michigan to earn the honors

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State swimming and diving junior Bryan Williams has been named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday, Oct. 23. The Troy, Mich., native earns the honor for the second time in his career after winning two individual races against Iowa this past weekend.
Williams finished in first place in the 200 butterfly as he clocked in a time 1:49.34. He followed up with his second individual title in the 100 butterfly, the same event he swam at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, recording a time of 48.19 to earn NCAA provisional qualifying marks.
A 2012 Academic All-Big Ten selection, Williams currently holds MSU's top times in both events this season. He also holds the top-time in the 200 freestyle, in which he placed second against Iowa with a time of 1:40.78.
Williams and his fellow Spartans will return to action on Saturday as the men play host to Notre Dame at 12 p.m. at IM West.
