Nov. 8, 2012
EAST LANISNG, Mich. - The Michigan State swimming and diving team will compete against in-state opponent Grand Valley State University on Friday, Nov. 9 in Jenison, Mich., at 6 p.m. The meet will take place at Jenison High School for the fifth consecutive year. Last year, the team posted a duo of victories over Grand Valley State, as both the men and women topped the Lakers. The women scored a dominate 167-76 victory, while the men narrowly escaped with a close 120-119 score for the win. Before both teams took a weekend off, the women lost a close meet against Illinois in Champagne, 153-147. The Spartans split the meet with the Fighting Illini, winning half of the 16 events. The men stayed home to host Notre Dame, but fell to the Irish 170-128. Next weekend, MSU will travel to Cleveland State for the Viking College Invitational. The three-day meet will begin on Friday, Nov. 16 and will consist of morning prelims at 9 a.m. followed by the finals at 5 p.m.
