WATCH: Swimming & Diving Preview

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's and women's swimming and diving team will travel to Cleveland State University for the Magnus Cup Invitational at the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium. The three-day meet will be held Friday, Nov. 16 through Sunday, Nov. 18 with prelims slated for 9 a.m. and finals scheduled for 5 p.m. each day.

MSU will face tough competition against Big Ten powerhouse Ohio State, who will be sending a men's team. In addition to the Cleveland State men and women's teams, the field also includes Xavier, Youngstown State, St. Francis and Duquesne.

Of the men's opponents, Cleveland State hosts with a 6-1-1 mark on the season, Xavier comes with a 1-1 record, and the Buckeyes hold an undefeated 5-0 dual meet record and are ranked ninth by the CSCAA.

On the women's side, Cleveland State is 4-2 on the season, Xavier is 1-3, Youngstown State has a 3-1 dual meet record, St. Francis comes with a 5-3 record and Duquesne is 2-5 going into the invite.

Friday's (Nov. 16) schedule of events will be as follows: 200 medley relay; 50 breaststroke; 500 freestyle; 200 individual medley; 50 freestyle; 400 medley relay; women's 1-meter diving; men's 3-meter diving.

Saturday's (Nov. 17) schedule of events will be as follows: 200 medley relay; 400 individual medley; 100 butterfly; 200 freestyle; 100 breaststroke; 100 backstroke; 800 freestyle relay; women's 3-meter diving; men's 1-meter diving.

Sunday's (Nov. 18) schedule of events will be as follows:  50 butterfly, 1,650 freestyle, 200 backstroke; 100 freestyle; 200 breaststroke; 50 backstroke; 200 butterfly; 400 freestyle relay.

MSU was recognized by the conference this week as sophomore Alison Menzies was named Big Ten Diver of the Week, as announced on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

The Spartans will take a weekend off before sending swimmers to the U.S. Short Course Nationals meet, held Nov. 29 through Dec. 1 in Austin, Texas.
