EAST LANSING, Mich. - Senior diver Sarah Clay has been named Big Ten Women's Diver of the Week, as announced by the Big Ten office on Tuesday (Nov. 22). Clay helped lead the Spartans to a win over St. Bonaventure last weekend after taking home top honors in the 1- and 3-meter events. She posted a 312.90 on the 1-meter board and a score of 334.20 on the 3-meter.
The Fishers, Ind., native has been a top performer for the Spartans throughout the entire season, recording three first-place finishes on the 1-meter and four on the 3-meter in just five meets.
This is the senior's first weekly award of the season, but fourth of her career as she was last tabbed with the honor on Dec. 14, 2010. Clay's top marks on the board have also already earned her NCAA qualifying scores.
Clay and the Spartans continue action on Dec. 2nd when they travel to Columbus for the three-day Ohio State Invitational.
