Swimming and Diving Teams Hang Tough at Notre Dame Invite

East Lansing, Mich.-Michigan State's men's and women's swimming and diving teams end day two at the Notre Dame Invitational with strong efforts.

Sophomore John Munley (Kalamazoo) again led the way for the Spartans, capturing second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of (1:42.15).

The top MSU women's finisher was Ildiko Szekely (Budapest, Hungary), who finished 4th in the 400 individual medley in 4:33.04.

Other Spartan top-six finishers were:

. Ashby Baldock, Rachel Frumkin, Andrea Stewart and Dianne Oliver, 5th in the women's 200 medley relay (1:49.81). . Daniel Bacheler, 6th in the men's 200 freestyle (1:43.55). . Catrin Lenfers, 6th in the women's 100 breaststroke (1:06.33). . John Bruesch, 6th in the men's 100 breaststroke (58.27).
