May 6, 1997 Men's Track Stays In-State for Linn Paddock Invitational
What: Linn Paddock Invitational THIS WEEK: The Spartans will stay in the state of Michigan for the second-straight week, traveling to Ann Arbor for the annual Linn Paddock Invitational. MSU has just two outdoor meets remaining before the Big Ten Championships, May 24-25, in Champaign, IL. CENTRAL COLLEGIATES: The Spartans took a limited squad to the Central Collegiate Conference Outdoor Championships last weekend at Western Michigan. MSU tied for 11th place out of 14 teams with a total of 12 points. Junior Jim Jurcevich (Defiance, OH) was the top Spartan finisher with a third-place showing in the 5,000 meters (14:51.89). Junior Mark Goodfellow (Oxford) claimed fourth-place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while sophomore Jason Coulter (Flint) took ninth-place in the 800 meters. Junior Damon Heard (Ypsilanti) rounded out State's top 10 finishers with an eighth-place finish in the 100 meters. |
