Michigan State junior track & field student-athlete Tori Franklin was selected to represent the United States at the 2014 North America Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-23 Championships in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Franklin will compete in the triple jump on Saturday, August 9 at 8:55 p.m. ET.
Michigan State freshman Katelyn Daniels made the most of her first experience in a Spartan uniform this weekend, placing second on the discus throw and third in the shot put at the USATF Junior Championships in Eugene, Oregon. With her placement in the discus, Daniels will return to Hayward Field to represent the United States at the IAAF World Junior Championships on July 24-25.

Sophomore Caleb Rhynard was named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Third Team on Thursday. Rhynard becomes the 11th Spartan track & field/cross country student-athlete to earn the honor and the first men's recipient since Nathan Egger in 2006.
The Michigan State women's cross country and track & field programs finished the 2013-14 academic year ranked No. 8 in the USTFCCCA/Terry Crawford Women's Division I Program of the Year standings. It was the highest standing for the program since the awards' inaugural year in 2009.
