The Michigan State track & field team will continue its split competition this weekend as the Spartans set out for meets around the nation. MSU will be represented in the triple jump at the Mt. SAC Relays, in the distance events at the Larry Ellis Invitational as well as at the Jesse Owens Track Classic.
The Michigan State track & field team split competition on Saturday as members of the team competed at the 2014 Tennessee Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., while several Spartans stayed in-state to compete at the Don Kleinow Invitational at Siena Heights.
The Spartans showed progress on Friday as members of the MSU track & field team opened up weekend competition at the 2014 Tennessee Relays in Knoxville, Tenn. Vincens Gjokaj (discus) and Codi Mattix (pole vault) each earned individual event wins to kick off the weekend strong for Michigan State.
Heading back out on the road, the Michigan State track & field team will split weekend competition as the Spartans travel to the 2014 Tennessee Relays and the Don Kleinow Invitational at Siena Heights.
Welcoming close to 1,200 competitors, the Michigan State track & field program hosted the 2014 Spartan Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Spartans won a total of nine events at their only home meet of the season, along with posting personal-best performances in a showcase at Ralph Young Field, Munn Field and Jenison Field House.
