Michigan State freshman thrower Lonnie Pugh (Grosse Ile, Mich.) placed 10th overall in the discus at the USA Track & Field (USATF) Junior National Championships on Saturday (June 27) at Hayward Field on the campus of Oregon. His throw of 52.91m (173-3) ranked him as the fourth-best collegiate athlete in the event, featuring the top athletes from around the nation. Pugh fouled on each of his first two attempts but came back with a toss of 52.91m (173-3) on his final attempt of the competition.
