USTFCCCA Announces Division I All-Academic Student-Athletes

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced their DI All-Academic honorees for their combined academic and athletic accomplishments on Tuesday. A total of 496 men and 727 women were honored by the USTFCCCA including two men and 11 women for the Spartans.

Tori Franklin Named to U. S. Team for NACAC Championships

Michigan State junior track & field student-athlete Tori Franklin was selected to represent the United States at the 2014 North America Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-23 Championships in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Franklin will compete in the triple jump on Saturday, August 9 at 8:55 p.m. ET.

Katelyn Daniels Places Second in Discus at USATF Junior...

Michigan State freshman Katelyn Daniels made the most of her first experience in a Spartan uniform this weekend, placing second on the discus throw and third in the shot put at the USATF Junior Championships in Eugene, Oregon. With her placement in the discus, Daniels will return to Hayward Field to represent the United States at the IAAF World Junior Championships on July 24-25.

Franklin Finishes 10th in Triple Jump at U.S. Championships

Michigan State junior Tori Franklin placed 10th on Thursday in the triple jump at the U.S. Track & Field Outdoor Championships in Sacramento, California. Franklin posted a distance of 12.93m (42-5 ¼).

Caleb Rhynard Named 2014 Capital One Academic All-America

Sophomore Caleb Rhynard was named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Third Team on Thursday. Rhynard becomes the 11th Spartan track & field/cross country student-athlete to earn the honor and the first men's recipient since Nathan Egger in 2006.
