March 3, 2007
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Sprinter Jeremy Orr ran an NCAA provisional-qualifying mark of 47.04 in the 400-meter dash on Saturday at the Alex Wilson Invitational, hosted by the University of Notre Dame. Orr's time placed him fifth overall in the event.
"Jeremy (Orr) continues to compete hard at all of his competitions," Assistant Coach Randy Gillon said. "The 400-meter dash is a very competitive event, and he ran a very strong time."
The mark was his third-highest time of the 2007 indoor season. He posted his fastest mark at the Notre Dame Invitational in 46.79, which ranks him at No. 19 among all times ran during the indoor campaign.
The Spartan track and field team returns to action next weekend, March 9-10, at the NCAA Championships held at the University of Arkansas. A list of event qualifiers will be announced early next week.
