The Spartans earned ten event victories on the women’s side and four event victories on the men’s side.

Joe Banyai, who had spent a majority of the winter out with injuries, took the top spot in the men’s 800 meters.  His time of 1:52.45 is the best outdoor mark of the season in the event for Michigan State.  Banyai’s distance teammate, Reed Payant, also scored his first career victory with a time of 3:56.15 in the men’s 1500 meters.

Michigan State claimed both jumping events on the men’s and women’s side.  Isaac Marshall defeated eighteen competitors in the long jump with a distance of 7.16 meters and Jarred Gambrell took top honors in the triple jump at 15.18 meters.  For the women, Katie Guikema earned the top spot in the long jump (5.68 meters) while Chanel Payne was the lone competitor in the triple jump (10.88 meters).
