Spartan Sprint Team earns four personal records at Polytan
Leslie Aririguzo earns first in the 100 meter hurdles.

BLOOMINGTON, IND. - The Spartan Track and Field sprints team walked away from the Polytan Invitational with a number of solid performances.
Leading the Spartans was Senior Leslie Aririguzo who won the women’s 100 meter hurdles with a time of 13.48. Aririguzo came close to breaking her own school record in the event, one that she shares with Jackie Walton who set the record in 2008 at 13.46.
Four personal records were also set during the weekend.
In the women’s 200 meters, Michigan State received new bests from Aririguzo who placed second with a time of 24.38, and freshman Alicia Evans who placed third at 24.45. The 400 meter dash saw Jaelynn Pryor set her career best at 55.71, which was good for third place overall in the event.
The last PR of the weekend came from Alysson Bodenbach in the 800 meters. Bodenbach raced to a fifth-place finish with a time of 2:10.25, topping her previous best of 2:13.77 which was set last season at the Notre Dame Invitational.
The women’s 4x400 team comprised of Evans, Pryor, Jellisa Westney, and TeJuanna Williams nearly broke the school’s outdoor record, racing to a time of 3:40.79 which placed them third amongst competition. Michigan State’s outdoor record in the event is 3:40.19, a mark set in 1991.
Other standout performances came from Westney in a third-place, 12.02-second effort in the women’s 100 meters and Keenan Michael who took fourth in the men’s 400 meters (49.24).
