Former Spartan Katie Landwehr Finishes Ninth at the USATF Outdoor Championships
The former All-American reached the finals for the second-straight season.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Former Spartan All-American Katie Landwehr finished ninth in the 3,000m steeplechase at the U.S. Track & Field Championships at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, California. Landwehr completed action late Saturday night.
She ended the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:55.72, which was good for ninth place in a very competitive race. This was the second-straight year that she has reached the final.
Landwehr advanced to the finals in the steeplechase on Thursday. She finished 10th in the preliminaries with a time of 9:48.70. She was fifth in heat two to secure her spot in the finals. Landwehr graduated from Michigan State in 2016.
On Thursday, June 22, another former Spartan All-American Tori Franklin advanced to the IAAF World Championships in London by finishing second in the triple jump. On her final jump, Franklin jumped into second place with a leap of 13.80m (45-3 ½).
