Michigan State Track & Field Sends Select Group to Alex Wilson Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State track & field program will send three student-athletes to compete at the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday, March 8 in Notre Dame, Ind. The competition will serve as the last attempt athletes will have to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships held on March 14-15 in Fayetteville, Ark., hosted by the University of Arkansas.
MSU will send red-shirt junior Jeremy Orr, senior Jackie Walton and senior Jim Pancoast to compete this weekend. Orr is coming off impressive performances at the Big Ten Championships last weekend as he finished third in the 200m (21.52), and second in the 400m, coming in with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 47.40. Jackie Walton ran her way to a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 8.37 in the 60m hurdles at the women's Big Ten Championships last weekend. Jim Pancoast's best finish of the year came at the Notre Dame Invite as he finished third in the mile run, with a time of 4:07.58.
The events at the Alex Wilson Invite will begin on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m.
