Ashley Stacey Wins Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week
Senior Spartan receives first weekly outdoor conference honor of her career.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State track & field senior Ashley Stacey was named Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. She earns her first weekly outdoor conference honor of her career after a standout weekend at the Raleigh Relays.
The Riverdale, Ill., native won the triple jump competition on Saturday as she posted a mark of 12.80m/42-0. It was her first collegiate win in the event since the Spartan Invitational in 2012, and fourth of her MSU career. She currently holds the best triple jump mark in the Big Ten and fifth-best in the nation.
The current MSU record holder in the long jump, Stacey finished third overall in the event with a mark of 6.07m/ 19-11. She also ran a career best in the 100-meter dash, clocking a time of 12.29 to place 45th overall. Capping off a busy meet, Stacey anchored the 4x100-meter relay that finished fifth at the Raleigh Relays with a time of 46.18.
Stacey and the Spartans will be back in action this weekend as they host the annual Spartan Invitational on Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6 at Ralph Young Field.
