EAST LANSING, MICH.
- Michigan State will divide its track team - sending their athletes to three separate meets over the course of the weekend.  The squad will travel to the Penn Relays and Drake Relays on April 26th, and Hillsdale Gina Relays on April 27th.  Action concludes for all three meets on Saturday, April 28th.  See the above links for information on each event.

Last Week at the Polytan Invitational (University of Indiana)...
Senior Leslie Aririguzo won the women's 100 meter hurdles with a time of 13.48.  Aririguzo came close to breaking her own school record in the event, which stands at 13.46.

Four personal records were also set during the weekend with Aririguzo who placing second with a time of 24.38 in the 200 meters, and freshman Alicia Evans who placed third at 24.45.  In the 400 meter dash, Jaelynn Pryor set a career best at 55.71 - which was good for third place overall in the event.

Alysson Bodenbach raced to a fifth-place finish with a time of 2:10.25 in the 800 meters, beating her previous best of 2:13.77 which was set last year at the Notre Dame Invitational.

Last Week at the Al Owens Classic...
Zack Hill, Antonio James, and Drake Veitenheimer were individual winners for the Spartans.


 

 

Hill topped all competition in the shot put with a distance of 17.44 meters while Antonio James won the discus at 51.36 meters for a strong showing in the throws.

In distance, redshirt freshman Drake Veitenheimer would earn his first collegiate victory in the men's 1500 meters.  Veitenheimer's time of 3:52.84 would be a new personal best, beating his previous mark of 3:53.28 which he set at the Spartan Invitational in early April.
