EAST LANSING, MICH. – Becca Buchholtz has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team for women's track and field, the organization announced Thursday.
Buchholtz, a senior from East Troy, Wisconsin, carries a 3.81 grade point average in General Management.
She finished her storied career at Michigan State as a four-time Big Ten champion in the high jump. She is the school-record holder in the event at 1.83 meters (6 feet) and has a grand total of seven-career Big Ten Medals to her credit.
She was a First Team All-Big Ten selection during the 2012 indoor season, earning a gold medal at the Big Ten Indoor Championships, and a All-Big Ten Second Team selection after earning a silver medal at the outdoor championships.
Recently, Buchholtz earned a 2012 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award and honorable mention All-American Honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution and competed in at least 50 percent of the team's meets. Freshmen and first-year transfers were not eligible.
