EAST LANSING, MICH. - Becca Buchholtz  has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America women's track & field/country second team.

Capital One Academic All-District honors are nominated and voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). To be eligible, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore standing both academically and athletically, and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30.

A senior from East Troy, Wisconsin, who exhausted her eligibility this past spring at Michigan State, carried a 3.81 grade point average in General Management.

Buchholtz completed her tenure as a four-time Big Ten champion in the high jump and the school-record holder in the event at 1.83 meters (6 feet).

She has grand total of seven-career Big Ten Medals to her credit and was a First Team All-Big Ten selection during the 2012 indoor season, earning a gold medal at the Big Ten Indoor Championships.

Buchholtz was also an All-Big Ten Second Team selection after earning a silver medal at the outdoor championships in May.

Recently, Buchholtz earned a 2012 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award and honorable mention All-American Honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.  In June, she was honored with CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team Honors.
