EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State track & field team will be competing in the Green & White Meet on Friday, Dec. 6 beginning at 3 p.m. inside Jenison Field House. The inter-squad competition will be the first action for the Spartans since the team sent the most NCAA qualifiers to the championships this past June since 1984. Admission is free for spectators who bring a non-perishable food item or a monetary donation for the MSU food bank.
“The team is looking forward to a final fall semester test to see what kind of athletic progress we have made,” said director of track & field/cross country Walt Drenth. “The fall has gone really well from a training stand point and the inter-squad meet gives everyone a measuring stick of progress and a jumping out point for training.
“Additionally the meet has served as an opportunity for the team to help the campus community as we ask anyone attending to bring non-perishable food items or money which will be given to the MSU food bank. Our past efforts from this event have proven very productive in terms of being able to provide food for campus students and families, and we look forward to continuing to support this great and important cause.”
