Complete Jeff Drenth Memorial Results Get Acrobat Reader

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - The Michigan State cross country program opened its 2010 season on Friday, Sept. 3, with the Jeff Drenth Memorial hosted by Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich. Senior Alex Russeau led all male runners with his second consecutive Jeff Drenth Memorial win as he turned in a time of 15:05.1.

Red-shirt sophomore Brian Hankins was the next male MSU runner as he turned in a sixth-place time of 15:35.9. Red-shirt junior Stephen Humes followed as the third runner for the Spartans with a time of 15:44.8.

For the women, freshman Allison White was the top runner as she turned in an unattached time of 18:22.0, good enough for third-place.

Red-shirt freshman Megan Rogers was the fastest uniformed Spartan when she clocked in at 18:54.8 for eighth place. Red-shirt juniors Elizabeth Watson and Tiffany Evans followed just behind Rogers in ninth and 10th with times of 18:56.4 and 18:58.3, respectively.

After having next weekend off, the Spartans return to action on Friday, Sept. 17, when they host the annual Spartan Invitational at Forest Akers East. Racing is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
