  • Became just the third pitcher in Michigan State history to record 100 strikeouts in a season.

  • Has become unstoppable as the season grows on, as he is 4-1 with a 1.16 ERA in his last six appearances, striking out 48 while walking only three in a 31-inning span.
  • Fanned 14 in seven innings against Indiana on April 11, 1998.
  • Fanned 10 while walking none in six scoreless innings vs. Oakland University on April 7, 1998.
  • Leads Michigan State in every pitching statistic category, excluding saves.
  • Has been MSU's top hitter, leading the squad in batting average, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage.

  • Participated in 1997 USA Baseball National Trials, allowing no runs while on the hill.
  • Led Michigan State in wins, ERA, strikeouts and saves in 1997, a feat never before accomplished in Spartan history.
  • Named 1997 Spartan Most Valuable Player and MSU Pitcher of the Year.
