After taking a pair of games from 21st-ranked TCU on Friday and Saturday, the Michigan State baseball team came up short in its attempt to sweep the weekend series, falling 6-2, on Sunday afternoon in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Michigan State baseball team picked up its second consecutive win over No. 21 TCU on Saturday afternoon at Lupton Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas, as it downed the Horned Frogs, 4-1. MSU starting pitcher Mick VanVossen held TCU to just six hits over eight innings to improve to 3-0 on the season.
Junior Blaise Salter hit a two-out, two-run homer in the top of the ninth to give Michigan State a 2-1 victory over No. 21 TCU Friday night at Lupton Stadium. It marks MSU's second victory over a ranked opponent this season, as the Spartans (6-6) topped No. 1 Oregon State on Feb. 22.
The Michigan State baseball team will take on 21st-ranked TCU in a three game series this weekend, beginning Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Lupton Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. TCU will be the third top-25 opponent the Spartans will face this season.
