Spartans Fall in Heartbreaker to Indiana, 4-3

The Michigan State baseball team was eliminated from the Big Ten Tournament after falling to Indiana, 4-3 in 11 innings, Saturday at Huntington Park. The Spartans now own a 37-21 overall record and will have to wait until Monday to find out if they will be selected for the NCAA Tournament.

Spartans Stay Alive in Big Ten Tournament, Defeat Ohio State

Needing a win to stay alive in the Big Ten Tournament, the Michigan State baseball team defeated Ohio State, 6-2, Friday afternoon in an elimination game at Huntington Park. The Spartans (37-20) will now play on Saturday at 3:35 p.m. against Indiana, who fell to top-seeded Purdue in the winners bracket on Friday.

Indiana Rallies to Defeat Spartans in Big Ten Tournament

Indiana used a four-run eighth inning to rally past the Michigan State baseball team, 6-4, in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday afternoon at Huntington Park. The Spartans (36-20) now drop into the consolation bracket and will play at 3:35 p.m. on Friday against the winner of the Ohio State-Nebraska game, which starts at 12:05 p.m.

Spartans Hold Off Nebraska in Big Ten Tournament, 10-9

Senior co-captain Tony Bucciferro allowed just two runs and struck out five in eight innings to lead the Michigan State baseball team past Nebraska, 10-9, in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament Wednesday afternoon at Huntington Park. But it took a spectacular game-saving catch by second baseman Ryan Jones in the ninth to seal the victory.

Jake Boss Sr. To Retire Following 2012 Season

Michigan State baseball volunteer assistant coach Jake Boss Sr. has announced that he will retire at the conclusion of the 2012 season. Boss told the team following the regular-season finale last Saturday on Senior Day at McLane Baseball Stadium.
