2003: Second-team All-Big Ten pitcher...named MSU's Most Valuable Player...won his 24th career game in the last start of the season, ranking second in the history of the program...led MSU in every major pitching statistical category, including wins (7), ERA (3.48), strikeouts (53) and innings pitched (95 2/3)...named MSU's Pitcher of the Year...consistently one of the top pitchers in the Big Ten...ranked first in regular season Big Ten statistics in innings and games started (13), second in opposing batting average (.227), tied for fourth in wins, sixth in ERA and seventh in strikeouts...posted a 5-3 mark in conference play with five complete games...began the year with a two-hit, seven inning gem on opening day at Centenary, retiring the last 10 batters he faced...named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 25 for his efforts against Centenary, marking the third Pitcher of the Week honor of his career...posted a complete-game win, including seven strikeouts, over No. 20 North Carolina on Feb. 28...perhaps his best outing of the season was a seven-inning masterpiece against Illinois May 2 as he retired the first 16 batters he faced and only allowed two hits in the outing...he faced the minimum 21 batters in his seven innings of work and was named a Big Ten Top Performer of the Week...tossed 95.2 innings, third-highest in program history...259 1/3 career innings rank third all-time at MSU and his 184 career strikeouts rank fourth...struck out a season-high eight in a four-hit complete game win vs. Northwestern April 6.

2002: Solid sophomore campaign as the No. 1 starter with an 8-4 record in 15 appearances...pitched 100 innings, which set a new MSU single-season record...started a team-best 14 games...second on the team with 72 strikeouts and had seven strikeouts or more in four starts...picked up first win of the season with a six-inning effort over Charlotte March 1...struck out eight and only allowed three hits and one run in eight innings of work at Wofford March nine strikeouts in win over Indiana on April 12...tossed a complete game shutout with six strikeouts at Michigan April 19 to earn Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors...complete-game victory with seven strikeouts over Ohio State on May 10.

2001: Named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American...had a staff best record of 9-1...3.53 ERA was second lowest on the team...made 21 appearances, including six starts...picked up two saves...second on team in innings pitched with 63.2...tied for first on the team in strikeouts with 59...held opponents to team-low .236 average...threw staff-best three complete games...made collegiate debut March 3 vs. Florida State, pitching 2.1 innings and surrendering no runs...earned first win vs. Monmouth March 8...threw four innings in relief and struck out four to earn win March 24 at Illinois...struck out season-high eight batters vs. Northwestern April 22 and vs. Penn State May 12...named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week April 23.

High School: Played two positions in high school, pitcher and shortstop...set school records for most career strikeouts (400), lowest ERA (0.79) and most career wins (44)...two-time defensive and team MVP...named all-state in both junior and senior seasons...selected as member of East All-Star team...two-time captain of baseball team...he and his Decatur teammates fielded the top-ranked team in Michigan in 1999 and fourth-ranked in 2000.
