2008: Second on the team in RBIs with 33...Started 37 games...hit three home runs, good for third on the team...had nine multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games...recorded first multi-hit game of the season vs. Northwestern (4/5) with a 2-for-3 performance and two runs scored...went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two doubles vs. Western Michigan (4/9)...had two hits and two RBIs vs. Central Michigan (4/16) and Toledo (4/23)...went 6-for-12 with five runs and 7 RBIs in four game series against Iowa (4/25-27)...posted a 3-for-4 and 2-for-4 performance with four RBIs in back-to-back games vs. Penn State (5/4) and Western Michigan (5/7), respectively...collected four RBIs and went 3-for-4 vs. Purdue (5/10)...Academic All-Big Ten selection...named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team...drafted by Detroit in the 46th round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft.

2007: Saw action in 36 games, starting on 24 occasions...hit .247 with nine RBI...scored 16 runs...posted a .347 on-base percentage...five of his 20 hits were for extra bases...picked up first career hit and scored a run versus Auburn (2/24)...doubled and scored against St. Joseph's (3/4)...scored two runs at Stetson (3/7)...had first career multi-hit game with 2-for-4 effort against Quinnipiac (3/9)...doubled and scored in home opener versus Concordia (3/24)...went 2-for-3 with a walk and drove in a run at Indiana (3/31)...walked, stole a base and scored a run versus Western Michigan (4/10)...walked and scored at Minnesota (4/21)...walked twice, scored a run and drove in a run against Michigan (4/29)...hit first career home run with solo shot in first game of doubleheader at Illinois (5/19)...went 2-for-4 with a double and in the second game of that doubleheader...had two hits - including a double - and scored a run in season finale at Illinois (5/20).

Prior to MSU: Played one year for Coach Luther Bramblett at St. Catherine went 39-14 and finished the season ranked No. 15...hit .338 with five homers and 34 RBI.

High School: Played four years under Billy Hodge at St. Mary High School...two-year captain...led the team in batting his senior year with a .490 batting average to go along with three homers and 34 RBI...a first team all-region selection as a junior and senior...named a Kentucky Senior All-Star.

Personal: Born Nov. 15, 1986...son of Gene and Marianne Roof...accounting major...favorite player is Brandon Inge...enjoys playing PlayStation and golf...played for the Columbus All-Americans in the summer of 2007...his father, Gene, played for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Montreal Expos in the early 80s, and is currently a coach in the Detroit Tigers organization...his younger brother, Jonathan, is a sophomore infielder for MSU...his older brother, Shawn, played baseball at Illinois...hit .301 with five homers and 34 RBIs playing in the Jayhawk League in the summer of 2008.
